About 

Fredri is an Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) accredited disability Social Worker, graduating from the University of Pretoria in South Africa in 1991. She has significant experience, spanning over 30 years, working across disability, health and corporate settings in Queensland, as a clinical practitioner, supervisor and trainer. 

In her social work practice, Fredri values integrity, honesty, transparency and the development of positive relationships.  She can establish empathic relationships with respect for an individual’s worth and dignity. She applies practice frameworks for ethical decision making. She has developed extensive networks both at higher and interstate level with a capability to synthesise complex information.    

Fredri considers the social, environmental and systemic factors which contribute to a person’s life.   She is mindful of individual differences and an individual person’s motivation to change, whilst understanding that this motivation is influenced by health status, including living with a disability, mental health conditions together with cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

​Fredri provides supportive and professional supervision and has undertaken several supervision and leadership development courses to complement her Masters's Degree in Management (Human Resources).

Services

Behaviour Support

Fredri is a highly skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner, with significant experience in this area including knowledge of legislated restrictive practices with adults with an intellectual and/or cognitive disability. 

Fredri’s work has provided her with high level knowledge and skill in a range of areas:

  • As a Principal Clinician (behaviour support) Fredri had a lead role in providing effective, contemporary and evidence-based clinical advice regarding positive behaviour support and restrictive practices to help adults with a cognitive or intellectual disability improve their lives and participate more actively in their communities.  Fredri undertook the delegations, statutory responsibilities and functions as set out under the Disability Services Act 2006, including Short Term Approval for the use of restrictive practices.  Fredri developed Positive Behaviour Support Plans for clients with high and complex behaviour support needs, including the use of restrictive practices (Containment, Seclusion, Physical Restraint, Chemical Restraint, Mechanical Restraint, Restricting Access to Objects).  She provided leadership and management to her team in the provision of contemporary, transparent and evidence-based clinical advice regarding positive behaviour support and reducing and eliminating restrictive practices. 

  • As a manager of clinical services within the disability sector, Fredri led and supervised professional staff working in inter-disciplinary teams providing clinical services through person centred and evidence-based practice.  In this role, Fredri was responsible for ensuring the quality and responsiveness of clinical services and for providing advice and strategic leadership on complex practice/service delivery issues across the scope of professional practice in the disability field, including practice frameworks and future directions.

Workplace Training:

Fredri has significant staff training experience in both health, disability and corporate contexts. Currently Fredri is a casual trainer for a training provider who assists organisations to reduce the risk of behaviours of concern and workplace violence through the provision of engaging and outcome-focused training programmes. 

Quality Assurance and review of Positive Behaviour Support Plans:

Fredri provides review and quality assurance of Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP) especially those containing restrictive practices to ensure they are legislatively compliant.  Fredri is proficient in the use of assessment tools such as the Behaviour Intervention Plan Quality Evaluation, Version 2 (BIPQEII).

PRICING

Individual Supervision (virtual or in person) - $165 p/h

Group Supervision (virtual or in person)  - $145 p/h per person

Generalised coaching and mentoring for behaviour support practitioners - $165 p/h

(virtual or by telephone)

Positive Behaviour Support Plan (PBSP) - Based on the NDIS approved rate

(intervention, implementation, development, writing and training)
